"Concert for the Cranes"

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
November 9, 2007

Support the Willowbrook Wildlife Center while enjoying an afternoon of folk and acoustic-rock music at the "Concert for the Cranes" on Saturday, Nov. 17 from 2 to 5 p.m. at Mayslake Peabody Estate in Oak Brook.

Concert for the Cranes

Noted local musicians, including The Grasslands Quartet, the Old Time Country and Blues Revue, Cooper and Nelson, and Patti Ecker, have volunteered to perform at the concert, which will raise money for a new sandhill crane exhibit at Willowbrook Wildlife Center in Glen Ellyn.

The center, which is owned and operated by the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County, received two sandhill cranes as part of the District's acquisition of St. James Farm in Winfield. The cranes, too accustomed to human contact, cannot be released into the wild.

Mayslake Peabody Estate is located within Mayslake Forest Preserve at 1717 W. 31st St., 0.25 mile west of Route 83. It is owned and operated by the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County.
